Operational test and demonstration of the renewable energy certificate system

Objective

RECS is an initiative of real market players, from eight European member states and Norway, concerning RE certification. RECS realises information exchange on national and international developments. It stimulates the implementation of strong national REC-systems and the international harmonisation of these systems. By realising a robust, transparent and reliable system for international trade in RE-certificates RECS guarantees the best use of the available options. Since RECS is market oriented and demand driven it offers maximal value for the available money and an extra push for market development and product development. The major aim of the operational test will be to prove that the mechanism for reliable, robust and transparent international certificate trade, as proposed by RECS, really works.
