Research and demonstration project, a complete low energy ventilation system

Objective

Concern about poor indoor air quality in new housing is associated with increasing levels of respiratory disease. The 'Low-Energy Whole-House' ventilation system addresses this problem as well as reducing heat loss and limiting household energy demand. The difficulties involved in the growing reliance upon MVHR, makes our proposed 'Low-Energy Whole-House' passive system very timely.

The participating countries represent the band of climates within the EU to which the system will be applicable, but it will also find a large market application around the world. The 'Low-Energy Whole-House' system is particularly relevant to the current discussions in Eastern Europe about the revision of thermal and ventilation legislation. This is an innovative integrated technology which will represent a new product line accessible to SMEs throughout the EU, with the possibility of increased employment in them and associated suppliers and contractors.
