New optimisation approaches for atfm

Objective

The NOAA study will investigate and undertake research into flow management problems in order to develop optimised and integrated ATFM techniques . This is performed in order to recommend appropriate methods for the optimisation of ATFM procedures which will provide the basis for the further developments needed for a unified ATFM system of next generation.
The research will optimise the algorithms used for flow planning and investigate the impact on the controller tasks and the requirement for information to support the flow planning activities. The linkage of these activities to provide an efficient overall flow management system will also be addressed. This will result in an optimisation of ATFM procedures, sequencing and metering, departure management and tactical flow management.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
