Objective
The ASIVAL project will contribute in providing a consistent, concrete and feasible validation process for the future ATM system built upon the current validation activities, tackling the problem of how to cut the overall validation into manageable pieces. It will mainly focus on assessing the best configuration (in terms of systems and test components) for overall validation taking into account existing practices and providing for given system validation objectives. It will produce a system breakdown structure with respect to validation of an ATM system and assess the work to be done. This will include characterization of the validation activities related to different subsystems pertaining to the breakdown that provide input for the
establishment of a validation plan.
Inputs to the other projects dealing with the overall validation activities will be provided through the concerted action on Overall ATM Validation that will be established amongst the three validation projects to improve the exchange of information amongst the three consortia and to prepare the successive execution phase.
