Modelling and analysis of the impact of changes in ATM

Objective

The aim of the MAICA project is to evaluate the performances in terms of capacity, efficiency, safety and the further benefits deriving from changes in ASM, ATC airports and aircraft as foreseeable in the future ATM system. It starts defining the possible changes of the operations of the participants who are connected with a part of any flight of a given aircraft: ASM,ATC, airports or aircraft themselves. It goes on then with the preparation of the simulation activities addressing the global goals of the tools, the scenarios and the associated data and the evaluation criteria. The core of the project is the simulation platform specification and the associated tools identification process, those fulfilling the needs, those to be modified and those to be developed. The project will end by indicating for each identified scenario benefits in terms of performance, advantages and disadvantages connected to the changes associated with the scenario under consideration (technical aspects, costs, impacts on the human role).
