Met improvements for controller aids

Objective

The MICA project aims at determining the importance of accurate weather provision on developing and maintaining a 4D model of a flight in decision support tools in operational Air Traffic Control . The deriving potential improvements in the quality of predictions and the relevant operational benefit to controllers will also be addressed. The project will review the existing decision support tools for trajectory prediction analysing their characteristic,at the same time will perform as well a review of the trends in weather forecasting techniques and relevant products. It will then move on to define the operational requirements for the future trajectory based decision support tools and the relevant operational benefit they will provide for the selected scenarios. A functional architecture where the meteo data will be available for integration in the trajectory based decision support tools will be proposed. Sensitivity analysis methods will be applied to identify the importance of weather information in the formulation of the trajectory.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
