Objective
The following four approaches to MISCANTHUS will be studied:
BIOTECHNOLOGY
- Production of plant material and development of efficient multiplication techniques besides vegetative propagation
AGRICULTURE
- Extension and maintenance of testfields, cultivation of production fields
- Study of agricultural properties, environmental effects and development of economic agricultural methods and equipment
PRODUCTION
- Building of two pilot plants and one production plant
- Production of Miscanthus based building materials and development of new materials
PROMOTION AND COORDINATION
- Building of twenty modular housing units based on Miscanthus building materials
- Promotion of the total Miscanthus concept
- Coordinate the activities of the participants
