Objective
This project is concerned with the visual impact of forestry on the landscape. The objective is to produce a detailed guideline for forestry, with emphasis on aesthetics and amenity. The project will depict alternative approaches to planting, management and harvesting which will be appropriate in certain landscapes or different types and land use. The proposers will use case studies and public attitude surveys as tools for the development of guidelines for visual impact assessment and amenity. The proposers hope to reassure the public about the visual impact of appropriately planned forestry.
