Objective
PROJECT MR 00253 PROJECT DEFINITION Creep is the continuous plastic deformation of a material under stress, generally at high temperatures, which will eventually lead to a component or structure becoming so weakened that it is unable to support the applied load. In view of the slowness of the process creep testing is expensive. It is therefore important that the test assembly be shown to be functioning correctly and is not, for example, misaligned so that the specimen experiences bending as well as tensile forces. Initially this may be done by considering each of the component parts of the assembly in turn. Eventually, however, it will be necessary to demonstrate that the entire assembly is functioning correctly and gives reproducible results. This may be accomplished by use of a reference material with a well-documented behaviour over a relatively short time period.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
