SPECIFICATION AND MEASUREMENT OF RADIATION EFFECTIVENESS

Objective

A semitheoretical model was constructed with the objective of developing a unified theory of radiation action, for application in fundamental dosimetry. The model could cope adequately with dose rate and repair effects for any radiation type. The model proved useful in providing an interpretation of some unusual biological phenomena such as the inverse dose rate effect and the action of incorporated auger electron emitters.
