DECORPORATION AND INTERRUPTION OF TRANSFER OF RADIONUCLIDES ESPECIALLY OF SR AND BA

Objective

IT IS INTENDED TO ELABORATE MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM EFFECTIVE DOSES AS WELL AS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PREVENTIVE APPLICATION OF THE CRYPTANT 222 WITH RESPECT TO THE INHIBITION OF THE INTESTINAL RESORPTION OF ALKALINE EARTH ELEMENTS IN EXPERIMENTS ON RATS. EXPERIMENTS WILL BE MADE MAINLY WITH SR-85 AND BA-133. THE EXPERIMENTS ARE PLANNED FOR SUPPLEMENTING THE FINDINGS WHICH HAVE BEEN OBTAINED ALREADY AND WILL SERVE TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE EVIDENCE ON THE UTILITY OF CRYPTANT FOR INTENSIFYING THE EXCRETION OF THESE ELEMENTS.
THE RADIONUCLIDES AND THE CRYPTANT WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY GAVAGE. THE EXCRETION OF THE RADIONUCLIDES WILL BE FOLLOWED BY REPEATED WHOLE BODY MEASUREMENTS. AFTER AN INTERVAL OF TIME THE ANIMALS WILL BE SACRIFICED AND DISSECTED. THE RADIONUCLIDES WILL THEN BE DETERMINED IN VARIOUS ORGANS, FOREMOST IN BONE, INTESTINE AND KIDNEY.
