DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE PREREQUISITES TO GENERATE CELL HYBRIDS FROM IRRADIATED G1-CELL CULTURES AND M-PHASE CULTURES. OPTIMIZATION OF THE TIMING OF ELECTROFUSION ACCORDING TO THE AIM TO PREVENT REPAIR. ANALYSIS OF CHROMOSOME DAMAGE IN PCC INDUCED MITOSIS IN DEPENDENCE ON THE TIME BETWEEN IRRADIATION AND FIXATION (REPAIR KINETICS). APPLICATION OF ELECTROFUSION-PCC TO TREATMENT WITH CERTAIN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICALS (NOT YET DETERMINED IN DETAIL) IN ORDER TO INCREASE SENSITIVITY OF DOSE RESPONSE. COMPARISON OF DOSE RESPONSE RESULTING FROM GENETIC DAMAGE WITH DOSE RESPONSE RESULTING FROM MEMBRANE DAMAGE ACCORDING TO ADDITIONAL DATA FROM CELL ROTATION IN AN ALTERNATING FIELD OF HIGH FREQUENCY (ZIMMERMANN METHOD).

INFLUENCE OF GLUTATHIONE (GSH) AND OTHER NON-PROTEIN BOUND SH CELL COMPONENTS ON REPAIR OF PRECHROMOSOMAL LESIONS INDUCED BY EITHER IRRADIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICALS. INVESTIGATION OF GSH DEPLETION ON REPAIR PERFORMANCE AND REVERSION OF THIS EFFECT AFTER INCORPORATION OF NPSH COMPONENTS ADDED TO THE GROWTH MEDIUM .. APPLICATION OF THE ELECTROFUSION TECHNIQUE TO INCREASE THE PLASMA MEMBRANE PERMEABILITY TO CERTAIN THIOLS AND ENZYMES (EVENTUALLY COOPERATION WITH DR P BRYANT, UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND) .
