Summary:
ADLIB links an unspecified number of biotechnology databases. Using out softLink facility, users can navigate through these databases and thus collate primary (raw) scientific data and secondary literature information. Using these results, the user can then identify and reach "target" databases such as culture collections and primary literature. ADLIB is therefore the first One-Stop-Shop for biotechnology information. An added advantage is that new databases, which have not been able to build up a sufficiently large customer base, can be linked to from traditional products.
ADLIB has been demonstrated to a range of public and private sector users and database producers. It has been refined in response to their reactions and is now a "working service" ready for commercial exploitation.
