Advanced high flow rate (process) cell disrupter system including on line analysis of cell broth and energy recovery

Objective

Cell disruption is a critical step in biotechnology processing. Considerable improvements have recently been made in cell disruption techniques at bench level. This research project is intended to take these improvements on to the production scale and to include the cell disruption process as a part of on line analysis of cell broth providing information for fermenter control. Consideration is also to be given to energy recovery as a way of controlling the temperature of the final product. This work is expected to improve cell disruption efficiency at process level, to reduce product research times by guaranteeing scale up with respect to disruption from bench scale to process level and to facilitate improvements in ongoing downstream processes.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
