New routine DNA detection method using cycling probe reaction and particles couting

Objective

Very low levels detections of viruses are today managed through either the well known PCR and nested PCR or the LCR amplification processes. These are very sensitive techniques allow recognition of just a few viral or pro-viral DNA copies by sample. Those techniques mainly used in research laboratories and university clinical laboratories or associated are very heavy to perfom requiring skilled people and expensive infrastructures. Our experience in DNA detection and quantification and the very promising DNA diagnostic market led us to find more convenient and alternative methods to the PCR and LCR in order to spread out DNA detection to bigger quantities of clinical laboratories. The objectives of this project will be to set up and adjust a full automatic machine for routine quantification and detection of nucleic acid sequences for molecular diagnostic of many pathogens, of genetic diseases or of the recognition of specific sequences in research laboratories by using the "Cycling Probe Reaction" combined to a technology called "the Particles Counting Technology" (CPR-PCT).

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
