Objective
The primary objective of this research proposal is to fully develop and commercialise a novel technology. Is anticipated that a major application of this technology will be in the area of the neurosciences so a shared cost demonstration project application in this area will also be prepared to demonstrate the technology to a partnership of both industrial and academic end users. The technology, which was developed in laboratories of the Cancer Research Campaign in England, has now been licensed by the SME Oxford GlycoSciences. This grant would enable market research, product development, the commerical launch of reagents and kits as well as the preparation of the shared cost demonstration project. The research project would allow the application of this novel technology to an important area of biotechnology in the neurosciences which would be pursued as a shared cost demonstration project in Biotechnology (call for proposals June 1997).
