OPTIMIZED POWER PLANT OF ALPERUJO-GAS

Objective

CHP generated by combustion of olive waste in a bubbling fluid bed boiler (steam: 85 bar and 480 deg. C) using a CRC cycle featuring a natural gas fired gas turbine the exhaust of which is used to reheat the steam after a first expansion stage, then to generate additional high pressure steam at 18.8 bar and 500 deg. C. Combination of olive waste with gas turbine increases the cycle's efficiency by 7 %. The olive waste is produced during 4 months and stored to allow continuous operation. The CRC cycle, it's integrated control, operation without either gas or biomass will be tested in this project.
