Optical DNA Sensors

Objective

This research proposal addresses scientific questions underlying the application of nonlin optical methods for detecting sequences of DNA. Sensing devices for detection of genes small quantities of DNA by hybridisation to oligonucleotide probes will be demonstrated. Research will be direced to optomise nonlinear optical signals from appropriate surface m to which oligonucleotide probes will be covalently attached. Sensor devices will be developed for specific demonstration applications. A DrototvDe instrument able to Explorato perform the measurements will be des
