MYC Network Proteins in Tumorgenesis

Objective

Objectives
? To identify and characterize new members of the Myc Network of Proteins.
? To develop new model systems to assess the biological potency of the Myc network of proteins.
? To identify upstream regulatory pathways and downstream effector pathways of Myc.
? To identify molecular mechanisms of oncogene co-operation.

Brief description
Proteins of the Myc network are central regulators of mammalian cell proliferation and apoptosis; deregulation of their function contributes to tumorigenesis.
The aim of this partnership is to characterize the biological potency of new proteins that interact with Myc. Second, the partnership aims to develop tumor-related model systems that allow a precise assessment of the biological potency of proteins of the Myc network.

The major focus of the work will lie on the identification of downstream effector pathways of Myc and attempts to understand how Myc synergizes with other oncogenes to deregulate cell cycle progression and contributes to tumorigenesis.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
