WATER-BORN LACQUERING SYSTEM FOR COATED PLASTIC MATERIALS AND CALENDERED FILMS

Objective

The fundamental idea of the research work is to replace the solvent based lacquering system for plastic materials with water based system, without losing the properties of the laquers, but perhaps improving them and reducing considerably both the industrial cost and the energy consumptions.

The following range of activities represents the task of the partnership:

choice and set up of the best raw materials;
process and control parameters determination;
sample performance control;
process parameters optimization;
quality control.

The group of partners to deal with the task consists of a manufacturer of lacquers (Germany) and manufacturers of PVC (Italy and Belgium). The general task as well as the work development of each partner respective activities is subordinated to scientific assistance by a university (Italy).
