A powerful computer system for managing the use of space and other resources in hand moulding foundries has been developed. The system is particularly suited for foundries producing a wide range of products.
Based on actual order data, (eg due date, operating and cooling times), as well as master data, such as foundry layout, flask data and pit dimensions, an optimized automatic job schedule or, optionally, a manual job schedule can be produced. The current and the future status of the foundry can be viewed.
The computer aided moulding area reservation and optimization system (CAMARO) will open up considerable rationalization potentials to improve delivery reliability, customer information service, planning quality with reduction of planning effort and control of material flow. The optimized use of moulding areas, materials and other resources will result in a reduction of production costs.
