Objective

Braking performance, controllability and comfort during landing phase and ground makeovers can play a critical part of aircraft performance evaluation criteria and rely directly on the Braking Control System. Efficiency of Control System depends on the quality of its system integration, control logics, control valves and associated sensors. All these aspects will be addressed in SAMBA projects in the light of two innovative principles: Modular Braking System and Torque Brake Control.
A comprehensive system study will be performed by covering a large range of aircraft types in order to ensure the robustness of proposed solutions. Prototypes will be developed and fully tested on aircraft representative test bench. Many positive technical spins off are expected from this project. BE97-4330
