Low Cost, Low Power, Gas and Reaction Sensors using Thick Firm Printed Lamines

Objective

Throughout all sectors of industry technical and production departments are investing in and seeking miniaturization of sensing devices. This is true of the medical profession where new and more intricate surgical procedures, treatment methods and diagnostics are seeking rapid. accurate and low cost sensing devices for both gases, dissolved compounds and reaction endpoints.. Extec has obtained an established reputation for innovation within the Thick Film Hybrid industry during the last 9 years, and have exploited this technology in establishment of an experirnental low power, low cost CO gas sensor. This is achieved by altering the materials content of a cofired suspended laminate within a small (less than 1/100 the size of a conventional detector strip) sensing element. It is the purpose of this proposed project to extend the application of thick film laminate sensors to the development of small, low cost, highly sensitive sensor devices with particular emphasis to the medical and process control industries.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
