Optimization of Process Prameters of the Automatic Pressure Gelation Process for the Production of High Quality Electrically Insulating Parts of Duroplastic Cast Resin Moulds

Objective

In the automatic pressure gelation process high quality electrically insulating parts of duromeres are produced by injection under pressure into heated moulds. During this process, material damages (electrical and mechanical weak points) may be caused to the product by exothermic overheating due to chemical reactions. To avoid such defects, a calculation program is to be worked out for simulating the design of component, mould and casting process. Such a program will allow the component and mould condition as well as the control of the mold filling process to be optimized. Additionally, critical temperature distribution, unintentional gelation front evolution and undue internal mechanical tension gradients should be avoided. The objective is to obtain through mathematical modelling with material property values and process parameters a basis to derive the premise for an optimum design and fabrication of products together with the appropriate production technique.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
