Objective
This project will develop total maintenance strategies and systems to achieve improved reliability and availability of plant and machinery in saw-mills. It will examine the maintenance tasks in relation to the total demands made on saw-mills particularly simulating relationships between production and maintenance. The roles of on-line and off-line methods of maintenance will be better classified and a total model for developing strategies and techniques will be designed, built and evaluated in all saw-mills in the consortium. The results will adhere to relevant standards and be generalisable to other saw-mills.
