Objective
The intended research will be in the field of microsystems used for gathering environmental data. The specific area concerned is that of Materials Technology, e.g.: sophisticated sensor technology for tags placed on the interior or exterior of fish in order to gather long and short term data. The main scientific and technical objectives of the intended research project are:
1. to determine the feasibility of developing a variety of sensors that can be placed on amicrosystems that weighs 7 grams or less, has a diameter of 12.7 mm or less, and a length of 35 mm or less, and
2. to determine what type of material will best fulfil the requirements for compact construction of the housing for the microsystem. The types of sensors which will be studied in the research include: . Salinity/Conductivity . Pressure . Tilt . Heading . Geomagnetic

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
