Objective The purpose of this project is to formulate a detailed project proposal, and a research feasibility study concerning an innovation in the printing of textiles: the colour spray plotter (CSP). The CSP aims to give textile finishers and clothing manufacturers the ability to print short runs of fabric from which bespoke or highly individual garments can be made, without incurring the high set-up costs of screen printing. The project needs RTD performers to undertake the greater part of the research into spray print mechanisms, print ink technology and software writing while the proposers, who lack expertise in these areas, will concentrate on the development and testing of prototype equipment under typical working conditions.
