Objective The principal aim of the research project is to develop special logistic components for dismantling plants for old cars taylor-made for small and medium-sized enterprises. The project focusses on the internal material flow of bodies, components, materials and recyclings, on handling and material flow-related design of dismantling isles as well as on a more flexible and rational check of old cars in the plant's entry zone. In this respect the modular structure of these components is of special importance; it grants the SME optimal flexibility concerning adaptation to a variety of types, dismantling capacity, spacial situation and available investment means. The results of the FTE activities should lead to the building of demonstration objects and be made available to SME in order to improve their competitiveness in the automotive industry.
