Objective
This project aims the development of a new technology for the solution of the environmental problem of electroplatting waste water treatment sludges. The technology concerns the stabilization of the pre-treated sludges within a silicate network, in order to produce environmentally acceptable ceramic products, with the maximum economical recovery of the metal values contained, by leaching and electrowinning. The ceramic products will be evaluated according to selected toxicity tests, in order to assure that, for the best treatment conditions, there will be a cheap and non-toxic way for the elimination of the residues.
