Objective Ceramic cavities are used in solid-state lasers, where they serve as reflectorsaround the laser-active medium and the optical pumping system. The aim of theproject is to develop Cavities of nano-crystalline metal-oxide ceramicmaterials which do have a better diffusive reflectance, in order to enhance thepumping efficiency. Within the feasibility study, different processes ofmanufacturing will be examined regarding their impact on the optical quality ofthe ceramic pieces.
