Waterglass coating of powder materials for substitution of phenol processes in foundries and production of water soluble models

Objective

There are two main ideas in the project: A. To produce waterglass-coated quartzsand and use the coated sand for production of foundry moulds and cores. Develop production methods and improve the quality of the moulds and cores to an extent where it will be of great benefit to the foundries to substitute their phenol-based processes with waterglass-based processes. B. To produce waterglass-coated ceramic powders used in the production of water soluble models for different applications e.g. model-based tool and die manufacturing techniques.
