Objective
The building and civil engineering works sector produces a considerable volume of scrap and waste materials from its sites, greater than that of household demonstration centres with dissemination of best practices.
this waste could be put to profitable use. An evolution in the practises of the small and medium-sized industry sector is necessary, in order to minimise the cost of waste disposal and to conform to the new national and european regulations for the protection of the environment. However, the inappropriateness of the present means or those under study, for the elimination of waste issuing mainly from households and from the manufacturing industry does not permit a concrete and economically acceptable solution for the optimal recycling of waste from building and construction sites. The aim of the project is to draft codes of good practice and to develop a skid concept for the grouping together or the specific treatment of waste from the building and civil engineering works sector, which will lead to the setting up of pilot demonstration centres with dissemination of best practices.
