Objective
To conduct further research into the creation of a range of environmentally friendly and non toxic flame retardants to be used on the treatment of wood, paper and thatch. Initial research already conducted using a proprietory combination of polyphosphates and polymers has generated extremely promising results, but further work needs to be undertaken to : - prove and enhance the safety related aspects of the product both in its application and applicability; - modify the product for use in specialist application categories so that it is able to achieve the highest applicable European test ratings; - to further test, prove and enhance the environmental aspects of the product which are likely to be the key to its commercial success.
