Objective
The transfere of colour and fibre from the surfaces of leathers to other fabrics in contact with them is a major problem to the industry. To maintain their market share and position it is imperitive that leather fastness standards match those of other modern textiles. The proposed project is designed to examine each element of the problem and applying polymer technology and establishing proven best practice, improve dye fastness and minimise/abolish loose fibre/dust production to attain the required product performance.
