Entwicklung einer neuen generation von dichtelementen fuer brandschutzanlagen

Objective

The goal of the planned research project is the development of a new generation of sealing barriers for fire prevention equipment. This research approach distinguishes itself due to the fact that with our sealing barrier only the edges of the opening in question are covered with known fire prevention materials. The predominant parts of the sealing barriers should be made of low-cost, easy to work with materials which will be cooled in a fire. The cooling process should be causes by an endothermic chemical reaction and thermo-physical processes, where the necessary energy will be taken from that occurring in the fire. That is a fundamental difference to the currently pursued approaches which prevented the fire from spreading through the use of a heat-resistant barriers alone. Fire prevention equipment with simple technical means from different manufacturers in all EU countries can be economically developed, produced and set up where needed, based on these sealing barriers and in keeping with the existing high safety standards of current methods.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
