Objective
Due to environmental concerns, the research is being focused on the development of no pollutant technologies in new applications. This has arisen the idea of make-ready a well known technology, the microwaves, as remedial treatment of wooden objects (object d'art, furniture, paintings) and archives attacked by xylophagous agents. The aim of this project is to develop a treatment that eradicates the destructive agents by microwaves: - quick and effective - cheap - no-contaminant taking into account that this technology does not produce the material degradation on polychromes, varnish, paper, and so on.
