Objective Development of an integrated cost reduction design technique, overcoming the thresholds towards Value Engineering (VE) as experienced by SMEs. The technique is to be implemented into a Windows-compatible computer tool, combining those benefits out of Value Analysis (VA) with the benefits of those related VE tools relevant to the SMEs concerned. The project is aimed at overcoming the most relevant limitations to be found with the existing techniques. The research can result in a reduction of production costs for European SME's of 10 MECU per year.
