Research and development for a new concept of stuffing box for high pressure valves

Objective

The main goal of this project is to create a new technology of stuffing box for high pressure valves to be able to adapt, on technical and economical points of view, these new products to oil and petrochemical industries, in order to suppress all fugitive emissions, asbestos components and to improve security and maintenance . The aim of the research project is to select new materials, to develop specific mounting techniques and to create prototypes of this new product and test them in real industrial situation . The interest of such a research is firstly to treat european sites for industrial, and environmental problems and then to disseminate this new technology worldwide . Considering both economical and technological aspects developing such technologies and prototypes with tests and experiments is too much complicated and risky without the contribution of major RTDs .
