Objective
Numerous well control problems occurring over several decades have been studied to determine the causes. By learning from these past well control mistakes, we can help prevent future blowouts. Currently many leakages and accidents occur at the boreholes drilled in the production of hydrocarbons. These have disastrous consequences for both the environment and the personnel involved. This new device is proposed as a solution to assist in the safe control and management of wellheads. The application of such a device within this highly pressurised environment, will prevent the escape of fluids, rod and wire rope whilst permitting drilling operations to be continued and adjusted accordingly. Ultimately, this revolutionary system will ensure the elimination of blow-outs. It offers not only greater safety and more control, but also significant cost and damage reduction for both the offshore industry and the environment.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
