Objective
The concept of objective measurements has a significant meaning for the textile and clothing companies in Europe. The quality of fabrics has been assessed subjectively in these companies for a long time. A typical example is fabric handle. Although human perception is sensitive, the subjective method of assessing fabric quality such as handle is not compatible with modern technology. In order to enhance the modernisation of textile and clothing companies, it is essential to obtain a better understanding of this subject and to develop a scientific system for the objective evaluation of quality of textile materials, which could then be applied for quality assessment and quality control in European textile mills. Thus, the main objective of the project is to cover the lack of a reliable method, which will correlate in quantitative terms the objective measurements of mechanical properties of fabrics and the subjective assessment of fabric handle by experts. The objective measurements will be carried out using KAWABATA- testers. This analysis will be supplemented by some subjective trials.
