Objective
The industrial and economic problem for producing companies is that product life cycles are shortened more and more because of the rapidly changing demands of the markets. Therefore, it is essential for the economical success of an enterprise to react fast to modifications of the market and to transfer the resulting demands into the product. Aim of the project is the development of a simulation technique which can predict the distortion which occur during welding because of an inhomogeneous stress situation. This will be evaluated exemplary for thin-walled metal steel plates and realised by finite element calculations. The main RTD goal is to minimise deviations from the aimed geometry in order to reduce the expenditure for the development of new products.
