Objective Composite materials are largely used in building & utility construction. However during production and processing of these composites serious health problems can arise by employees (e.g. styrene and glass fibres in the polyester processing industry) These thermorigid composites are also difficult to recycle and causes also unhealthy emissions during incineration. On the other hand sustainable product development becomes more important. Within this project these above mentioned aspects are combined. polyester reinforced glass fibres are substitute by a biocomposite composed of a natural oil binder in combination with natural cellulose fibres. The project will result in a prototype of a crash barrier followed by other prototypes, products which substitute other thermorigid composites.
