Objective
Plant control and condition monitoring are two traditionally separatefunctions, which are essential to the operation of industrial manufacturing andprocessing operations. Current systems centralise processing, leading to highcost independent applications with restrictions in performance and reliability.Although this has not hindered the development of control systems, it hasrestricted the application of condition monitoring. The aim of this proposal isto investigate the integration and potential for interaction of plant controland condition monitoring systems and the benefits that the distribution ofprocessing power into sensors may bring.
