Industrial prototype for gluing shoe components by means of a thermoplastic film

Objective

The project foresees the planning, carrying out and experimentation of a prototype with high automation degree, suitable for performing typical gluing operations belonging to the shoe sector. The functioning of the system is based on the use of a thermoplastic film as binder- suitably additivated with ferromagnetic powders or fibres - that is placed between the two surfaces to be united. The film is brought to fusion by means of an induction or microwave system. The prototype aims al substituting traditional gluing methods which use glues with solvents and a number of processing phases: preparation of surfaces to be united, spreading of glue, pressing, drying, finishing. The particular technical characteristics of the studied device will permit to reach the following objectives: increase of production quality; reduction of production costs owing to a sharp time reduction for gluing procedures; greater safety in the working environment because the stocking of inflammable materials in industries will be avoided (solvent glues); reduction of environmental impact inside and outside the working environment (elimination of solvent glues from cycle and therefore of exhausted containers, global recovery of excess film discards) .

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
