Objective
The aim of the described project is the development and prototype construction of novel stationary and mobile fuel tanks showing significant reduction of volatile hydrocarbon emissions. This aim shall be reached by . the integration of a HC-reduction system (condensator body) into fuel tanks . the implementation of a new gauging system the adaption of car- and storage fuel tanks The results shall be evaluated by a new HC detection system which shall be also developed within the scope of this project A complete fuel tank prototype (tank, HC reduction system in form of a condensator body, special gauging system) shall be constructed and built, at which HC emission measurements as well as continuous improvements shall be carried out. The reduction of the emitting hydrocarbons shall be significantly optimised by . structural measures at the tank system integration of a condensator body in form of network-shaped inlets at neuralgic spots inside the tank and the use of a new gauging system At the Technical University Graz, a measurement system for the determination of specific fuel components shall be developed with which the detection of e.g. Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX) can be carried out.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
