Objective
The objective of the research is to create a new generation of taphole mix with carbon for blast furnaces for: technical reasons (alternate to organo-minerals products, better resistance to corrosion and better quality of cast iron, new ratio quality/performance in decreasing the density of the injected materials), economical reasons (reduce the costs of sealing refractories, lowering of iron costs and of the costs of taphole refractories for the whole steel and iron industries, economies in term of maintenance ) social, safety and environmental reasons ( improvement of the hygiene of workers for casting people (product without tar), improvement of the quality of environmental, improvement of safety in production, suppression of polluting products) The aim of the research project is the creation of a new taphole constituted essentially of carbon materials fully compatibles with the internal coating of the heart of the blast furnace . The interest of such a research is to create a new product replacing old technologies for security, ergonomic, insulation, reliability and performance purposes .
