Objective
The scientific and technical objectives of this research proposal concern the development of safe and ecologically sound fenders for lorries which are not fatal until speeds up to 40 km/h. Research is required to characterise the material properties, needed for the development of synthetic light-weight fenders with a high power absorption capacity for collisions. In addition, the R&D-activities are aimed at minimising the environmental effects.
