Cellular beams for the steel construction industry

Objective

The technical objectives of this proposal are to carry out the underpinning developments that will assess the use of cellular beams further into further important types of construction. building on its success to date for limited applications. Research is needed on fire engineering, void elongation. moment/axial load interaction and a design engine needs to be developed to enable non-specialisl engineers to make best use of these sophisticated structural openings. New geographical markets will be identified and the technicality modified as necessary to permit the wider geographical application of cellbeams for all applications.
