ENERGY EFFICIENT URBAN SPORTS FACILITIES IN ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED EAST END OF LONDON

Objective

First of a phased development of 5 energy efficient sport's buildings for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, one of the most deprived local authorities in the U.K. Combination of features proposed for a 4713 sqm new multi-purpose sports hall, indoor tennis court and ancillary facilities. Limited measures planned also for existing facilities (1194 sqm). Advanced daylighting systems, ventilation recovery and energy efficient lighting and plant, improved insulation, natural ventilation enhancement through design, materials with low environmental impact. 54% savings compared to current construction and emission reduction.
