Critical parameters governing the mobility and fate of pesticides in the soil/aquifer system: an experimental and modelling study based on coherent interpretation of transport parameters and physico-chemical characteristics

Objective

THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE ROMANIAN PROJECT IS THE TESTING 0F THEORETICAL CONCEPTS IN DESCRIBING THE TRANSPORT PROCESSES IN THE SOIL/AQUIFER SYSTEM. SPECIAL ATTENTION WILL BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE DEFINITION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE BASIC PARAMETERS GOVERNING THE INVOLVED TRANSPORT PHENOMENA WITH FOCUS 0N THE DISPERSION. PERFORMANCE OF VARIOUS THEORETICAL MODELS WILL BE TESTED USING THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA OBTAINED FROM THE LAB AND TRACER EXPERIMENTS WITH CONSERVATING SUBSTANCES. EXISTING MICROSCOPIC EXPRESSIONS DEVELOPED IN THE ROMANIAN TEAM WILL BE TESTET TO ESTIMATE MACROSCOPIC PHYSICAL PARAMETERS (E.G. HYDRAULICH CONDUCTIVITY, DISPERSION) NECESSARY IN - MACROSCOPIC TRANSPORT EQUATIONS.IN ADDITION THE DEPENDENCE OF THE PHYSICAL PARAMETERS 0N THE SCALE OF SYSTEM WILL BE ADRESSED IN A THEORETICAL MATHEMATICAL FRAMEWORK.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
